Win a trek-of-a-lifetime!
Trek America are currently running a competition to find the next biggest blogger! If you’ve always fancied road trippin’ with Trek America but haven’t managed to save the funds to pay for a trek, now’s your chance to have a go at winning one. You’ll have to act quickly though because the deadline for the first stage of the competition is March 9th 2014.
The Blog4Trek prize
One lucky winner who makes it through each stage of the competition will win a spot on the two-week Westerner 2 camping trek; the one I mentioned in this post: Ask the Trexpert and Trek HQ!
Not only are Trek America offering a free place on this tour, but also return flights from the UK and a night in a hotel before and after the tour. If you watched my video on the page mentioned above, you don’t need me to tell you how amazing I think this prize is – judge for yourself!
Frequently Asked Questions
I’m convinced, what do I need to do to win this thing?!
As mentioned above, there are stages to the competition; three in total. For the first stage, you need to blog 300 words on “what you would pack for a weekend away”. Make your entry interesting though, think of a context for your weekend away, are you packing for a:
- City break with the boys/girls?
- Wild camping trip somewhere remote?
- Music festival?
- Active break e.g. skiing, hiking, sailing etc?
- Photography trip?
- Spa weekend?
Be creative and at the same time try and share some really good packing tips. Trek are encouraging you to include multimedia in your blog posts, so if you choose to do this, think about what might be useful to film or photograph.
Do I need to have a blog already?
You do not need to be an existing blogger to enter this competition, it is perfectly acceptable to create a blog just to publish your #Blog4Trek entries. Don’t worry about spending lots of time setting up a blog either, you will be judged on your entry, you can develop your blog as you go along. For now, just focus on that March 9th deadline and putting together some great content.
Which blogging platform should I use?
This is a personal choice, but if you want to set something up really quickly and easily, you might want to take a look at a well-established hosted blogging platform such as:
